(Pr. Afsaneh Gaillard, Experimental and Clinical Neurosciences Laboratory, Poitiers, France)
Our research program focuses on repair of damaged adult central nervous system by cell replacement therapies. We are mostly interested in the lesions targeting the cortex after traumatic lesion and the brain lesions observed in the Parkinson's disease (Gaillard et al., Nature Neuroscience, 2007; Gaillard et al. Neurobiol. Dis. 2009; Espuny-Camacho et al., Neuron 2013; Michelsen et al., Neuron, 2015, Péron et al., J Neurosci. 2017).
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to study the neuroanatomical and functional integration of transplanted human induced pluripotent stem cells derived dopaminergic neurons in animal models of Parkinson’s disease. The candidates should have a PhD in Neuroscience with a solid expertise in electrophysiology and optogenetics. Highly motivated scientists with a strong interest in stem cell-based therapy in neurodegenerative diseases are encouraged to apply.
The position is for 3 years and it is available from the 1 September 2019. Salary will be in accordance with the University scale, depending on experience. Please send a curriculum vita, names of three references, and a letter describing research accomplishments and career objectives to Dr. Afsaneh Gaillard, Inserm Unit 1084, Experimental and Clinical Neurosciences Laboratory, Cellular Therapies in Brain Diseases Group, University of Poitiers, France.
