Place of work: LCPME at Nancy, France

Type of contract: Scientific fixed-term contract

Contract duration: 24 months

Hiring date: first semester 2024

Working hours: Full time

Salary: from 2,934 to 4,123 euros gross per month depending on experience

Level of education required: Level 8 - (Doctorate)

Desired experience: with or without postdoctoral experience

Funding sources: Horizon Europe

Missions

The researcher will develop protocols for the 3D printing of electrode materials applicable to hydrogen production.

Activities

The research activity will involve developing the formulations and 3D manufacturing and post-processing steps needed to obtain an electrode with conductivity, reactivity and mechanical properties suited to the application. Depending on the candidate's expertise, the activity could also involve modeling the electrodes to optimize the 3D architecture to be printed. The electrodes produced will be characterized and tested in electrochemical reactors for hydrogen production.

Skills

The candidate must have a strong experience in electrochemistry and/or 3D printing. A good knowledge of one of the following fields will be highly appreciated: electrochemical engineering, modeling, electrolysis, redox flow battery. A good level of English is required, written and oral communication.

Working environment

The research will be carried out in the LCPME electrochemistry team, as part of the European project REDHy involving 7 academic and industrial partners (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101137893). The LCPME has expertise in redox flow batteries, electrochemical modeling and 3D printing. The REDHy project tackles the limits of contemporary electrolysis technologies by imagining a new conception of water electrolysis for hydrogen production.
