We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic postdoctoral candidates to join our team to study hematopoiesis using vivo approaches at the INSERM Unit U1218/University of Bordeaux, France under the supervision of Dr. Katie Sawai. The position is supported by funding from the ATIP-Avenir and INCA-PLBIO programs and is available for a 24-month period with the possibility for extension.
Description: The goal of the project is to define the in vivo activity of hematopoietic stem cells by lineage tracing in a novel transgenic mouse model (see refs). This model will be used to study the function of hematopoietic stem cells in different physiologically relevant contexts beyond the steady state including age and during immune stress.
Requirements: The position is based on the use of in vivo mouse models, multi-color flow cytometry, single-cell sequencing, as well as standard molecular and cellular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, tissue culture). The candidate must have a PhD in immunology, molecular or cellular biology, or other relevant field. The candidate must be highly motivated, capable of designing and executing experiments as well as analyzing results independently. The candidate will be expected to present and discuss results in lab meetings, apply for independent funding, contribute to writing manuscripts and must speak English and/or French. The candidate must be open to experimentation using animals. Experience working with mice, flow cytometry, and/or genomic/transcriptomic analysis is highly desirable but not required. Salary is based on experience and is determined by guidelines established by the University of Bordeaux (for example: first postdoc immediately finishing PhD ~43K EUR annual).
To apply: For further information, please contact Katie Sawai by email. Interested applicants should send a CV, letter of motivation, and the contact information for 3 references to Katie Sawai at email@example.com.
