Description of the research activity:

Basic research in the field of philosophical ethics with a focus on responsibility and sustainability as key concepts for an ethical analysis of the present. The analysis is carried out in the perspective of a philosophical (self-)critique of ethics with regard to the viability of its approach to the future, and understands itself as an element of the ethical foundation of economic knowledge which favours responsible and sustainable, hence future-fit decisions and practices. This analysis will avail itself of the methods of hermeneutic phenomenology aimed at the interpretation of sources of the classical philosophical tradition as well as of relevant literary sources. The guiding question is that of a future-fit ethic which is capable of laying the ground for economic decisions which are responsible and sustainable in the sense of this same ethic.
