Te Whiwhinga mahi - The opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Construction Management, specifically Construction Informatics, to join the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Design.
In this role, you will undertake high-quality teaching and research in construction management, with a particular emphasis on construction informatics, and serve the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Design, and the wider University through academic citizenship. You will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise research students, and develop a strong research programme that attracts external funding and produces impactful publications.

This is a permanent, 40 hours per week, full-time contract. The salary range for this role is from NZ $99,788 - $158,904 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

The Faculty of Engineering and Design is a vibrant hub of innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. With purpose-built facilities and strong industry connections, the faculty supports cutting-edge research and hands-on learning across engineering, architecture, urban planning, and design.
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers BE (Honours) degrees accredited by Engineering New Zealand in both Civil and Structural specialisations, in addition to a wide range of postgraduate taught and research programmes, including a specialised masters in construction management.
The department is home to the Smart Digital Lab (SDL) and the Trimble Technology Lab (TTL), which provide a platform for research and teaching in construction informatics and digital engineering. The TTL was established through a landmark partnership between Trimble and the University of Auckland and provides access to state-of-the-art hardware and software used across the architecture, design, construction and infrastructure sectors. These facilities support research into emerging technologies including Virtual and Augmented Reality, LiDAR scanning, autonomous and drone-based data capture, robotic quadrupeds, machine learning and artificial intelligence, digital twins, BIM, and related technologies for the built environment.
