The department of Management of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Antwerp is seeking a post-doctoral candidate willing to write research proposals that tackle the link between employees’ career experiences and resistance to change.

Position

Specifically, this postdoctoral research opportunity focuses on understanding how employees' career experiences shape their openness to or resistance against organizational change. By combining perspectives from organizational change, career mobility, and diversity research, this project aims to uncover long-term, experiential factors affecting change resistance. The findings will provide actionable insights for organizations to design tailored change management and career development strategies.

External and internal post-doc researchers who are eligible to submit an FWO or MSCA post-doc application are invited to apply. The top ranked candidate(s) with the best profile (project proposal & CV) acquire a preparatory post-doctoral research mandate to further develop and submit a competitive research proposal to FWO (Flemish Science Foundation) or MSCA (Horizon Europe Marie Curie fellowships), with the University of Antwerp as host institution.

A preparatory full-time or part-time mandate of a minimum 6 months (up to a maximum of 12 months) will be provided.

Profile

  • You hold a PhD in Economics or Management or related fields (or you will have obtained it by the time you start work), preferably with a focus on careers and/or organizational change.
  • Your research qualities are in line with the faculty and university research policies.
  • Your teaching competences are in line with the University of Antwerp’s educational vision.
  • You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.
  • You can speak and write fluently in English.
  • You comply with the FWO Post Doc and/or Marie Sklodowska-Curie Post-doc eligibility criteria
