Your Responsibilities

  • Autonomous research in the field of theoretical particle physics and/or quantum gravity using numerical methods (e.g. lattice gauge theory, dynamical triangulation, event generators)
  • Participate in existing research projects and develop new research proposals
  • Active participation in the Research Career Campus Consortium "Theoretical Particle Physics" as well as an PI in the FWF doc.fund "Conceptual Aspects of Composite States"
  • Contribute to acquisition of third-party funds
  • Participation in large-scale applications in both education and research
  • Independent supervision of Bachelor’s, Master’s and, where applicable, doctoral theses
  • Student support and supervision
  • Cooperation on organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed doctorate/PhD in the area of theoretical physics
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Very good IT skills in the field of software development
  • Research activities in the area of either theoretical particle physics and/or quantum gravity
  • Knowledge in numerical methods (e.g lattice gauge theory, dynamical triangulation or event generators) preferred
  • Documented (co)supervision of PhD students
  • Enjoys scientific work and dealing with students
  • Sense of personal responsibility and ability to work with others
  • Able to work in international and interdisciplinary teams

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 70.200,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
