YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a motivated individual to join a research project in collaboration with an established industrial partner. This exciting opportunity focuses on exploring the potential of Brillouin-active photonic integrated circuits.

As a Junior Scientist, you will engage in a range of activities involving the design, fabrication, and testing of photonic integrated circuits co-integrated with microacoustic components.

This position also offers the opportunity to pursue a PhD, enhancing your expertise while working on innovative solutions directly adopted by industry.

If you are eager to work at the cutting-edge of modern nonlinear integrated photonics and keen to make an impact, we encourage you to apply!

Your Tasks Will Include:

  • Development of advanced integrated photonics components and circuits:
    • Conducting literature reviews
    • Developing design concepts for functional optical and acoustic components
    • Utilizing dedicated photonics and multi-physics simulation tools (e.g., Ansys Lumerical, Comsol, Matlab)
    • Creating layouts of complex photonic integrated circuits (e.g., Luceda, IPKISS, Python)
    • Developing dedicated fabrication processes
    • Characterizing photonic integrated components
  • Disseminating research results through peer-reviewed journals and participation in international conferences
  • Reporting results and communicating with our industrial partner

For any questions, please contact Dr. Roman Noskov at roman.noskov@silicon-austria.com.
