Job Description:

One postdoctoral position in MOFs and their composite materials, derived from inorganic by-products and other sustainable precursors, is available at CBS.GPE. This position involves the design, synthesis, and characterization of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and their composites using sustainable alternatives, such as waste and industrial by-products. The synthesized materials will subsequently be applied in catalysis and adsorption in large scale. The candidate will primarily focus on extracting and purifying metals from an inorganic matrix by-product, which will then be utilized in MOF synthesis. The material synthesis will involve wet chemistry and other well-established solid-state methods.

Required qualifications:

The candidate must hold a PhD degree in Materials Science, Materials Chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, or related disciplines with strong experience in MOFs and materials synthesis. Experience in catalysis and adsorption is also required.

The candidate should have demonstrated experience in undertaking independent research, managing research activities of Master and supervising PhD students. Fluency in English as well as a proven ability to write scientific articles are also mandatory. The post-doctoral fellow should be an effective team player to interact constructively with the interdisciplinary team of CBS department. For further information, please contact samir.elhankari@um6p.ma

The post requires the following skills:

  1. Familiar with the fabrication and characterization of porous functional materials as well as the purification of inorganic matrix.

  2. Able to perform catalytic and/or adsorption tests at large scale

  3. Able to examine the textural and structural properties of porous materials using a panoply of characterization techniques such as XRD, N2 adsorption, SEM, TEM, XAS, XPS, dissolution-NMR, IR spectroscopy and TGA and other related spectroscopy techniques.
