Group T Leuven Campus is an international campus providing education, research and services in Engineering Technology. It is part of the KU Leuven Faculty of Engineering Technology. Its bachelor, master and doctoral programmes in engineering technology combine a broad scientific and technological education with a pronounced focus on applications and implementation. Group T Leuven Campus is particularly committed to activities with broad societal added value, such as sustainable engineering and healthcare engineering. Responsibilities

  • You teach within KU Leuven's Bachelor's and Master's programmes in Engineering Technology and are co-responsible for (bio)chemistry-related courses. 
  • You will supervise practice sessions, lab sessions and project work within the (bio)chemistry-related programmes (such as chemistry, biotechnology, applied engineering techniques, ...). You develop the necessary study materials, keep them up to date and monitor the link with current scientific research. These assignments are in Dutch and/or in English.
  • Projects are an important part of the programme. You are responsible for coaching students during their project work and master's thesis.
  • You guide students, give them feedback and evaluate them.
  • You work closely with students, researchers and lecturers on an international campus.
  • Most of the teaching activities will be organised at Campus Group T, but it is possible, depending on the needs, that some of your teaching duties will take place at locations in Heverlee or Campus De Nayer. 
  • You are jointly responsible for the management of the labs.
  • You also play a role in the programme's public relations. You participate in various events such as info days, open business day, science popularisation, visits of international delegations, SID-ins, ... .

Profile

  • You hold a master's degree in engineering technology, master's degree in engineering science, master's degree in (bio)chemistry, master's degree in bioscience engineering or another master's degree with sufficient depth in chemistry and chemical engineering.
  • You enjoy teaching and can enthuse students. Experience in project work and project teaching with bachelor and master students is an asset.
  • You can work independently and proactively, have a sense of order and are accurate.
  • You are analytical, results-oriented and student-focused.
  • You use computers fluently and know the software necessary for your teaching assignment.
  • You are an enthusiastic, enterprising team player with inventive ideas who looks for improvements, experiments with new concept and solves problems in a creative and clear way.
  • You are committed to disseminating the faculty's mission and values: you are open to other cultures and world views and are motivated to work in an international environment.
  • You have communication skills and are fluent in Dutch and English, in accordance with the language requirements for higher education in Flanders.
  • You are prepared to carry out similar assignments on Campus Group T, locations  in Heverlee or Campus De Nayer.

Offer

We offer you a full-time appointment from 15 September 2023 to 14 September 2024 in salary scale 43. Upon positive evaluation, this appointment can be extended. In addition to salary, KU Leuven offers many fringe benefits.
