Group Leader In Immunology: Paris, France

The INSTITUTE NECKER ENFANTS MALADES
a centre of research in molecular medicine, solicits

Applications for New Teams

The Institut Necker Enfants Malades (INEM), located in the heart of Paris, is a research centre that develops approaches of molecular medicine based on frontline fundamental research. INEM works in close interaction with the Necker Hospital that provides care for pediatric and adult pathologies in a medical tradition of excellence. This environment fosters interdisciplinary research, both fundamental and translational.

INEM (https://www.institut-necker-enfants-malades.fr) wishes to recruit one or several team heads to join its department of immunology, microbiology and hematology. Candidates are expected to be dynamic, ambitious scientists with a record of high level productivity. Applications from both young scientists wishing to establish an independent group and from more senior colleagues already leading a group will be considered. The new groups are expected to be created in late 2018 or early 2019. Transversal projects with the potential to interact with teams in the second INEM department (Growth and Signaling) as well as with departments of the Necker hospital (nephrology, pulmonology, endocrinology, metabolism, hematology, gastroenterology, dermatology, neurology) are particularly welcome.

The selected applicants will be provided with newly furbished laboratory and office space in the Necker Faculty of Medicine where they will have access to the international research environment of the Necker campus, to state-of-the-art core facilities (imaging, flow cytometry, bioinformatics, morphology, viral vector production, genomics, proteomics, animal house) and to the various training programs at the master and doctoral levels of the Université Paris Descartes. The new groups will receive logistic and financial help in laboratory setup as well as advice in responding to national and European calls offering grant support (ANR, ATIP-Avenir, FRM, ERC).

Candidates should send a CV (≤ 3 pages), a complete list of publications, a brief description of previous accomplishments (2 pages) and an outline of their future research program (2 pages) as well as the names and contact details of 3 references by December 31, 2017 to P. van Endert, head of department, at pmvanendert@gmail.com
