Job content

We are looking for an experienced and motivated statistician to support the development and application of quantitative approaches within (interior) architecture research from a broad statistical perspective. In this role, you will collaborate with researchers from the ArcK research group to process data, structure it for analysis, and interpret it. You will assist researchers with statistical data processing or conduct (limited) analyses yourself. Additionally, you will contribute methodologically to research design and data collection across various research projects. For publications, you will assist with the statistical processing and presentation of results. You will work together with a multidisciplinary team in the broad field of architecture and interior architecture.


Profile

  • You have a PhD in Statistics or Mathematics (or equivalent)
  • You have demonstrable scientific experience in data-driven research and have published in international scientific journals.
  • You have a proven affinity for research in the social or design sciences, are open-minded, and can think broadly with researchers, contributing to various research topics and methods in the domain.
  • You are collegial, can work well in a team, and show commitment.
  • You find it exciting to work in a multidisciplinary team, where different experts collaborate in an integrated manner.
  • You are proficient in written and oral communication, both in Dutch and English.
  • Dutch is the official administrative language of Hasselt University. If you do not have a sufficient knowledge of Dutch (CEFR level B2) upon your appointment, we expect you to obtain the required level no later than 5 years after being appointed or at the moment of tenure (usually after an internship of 3 years for senior academic staff). We provide tailor-made language training. If you take up a teaching assignment as a coordinator or cotitular, you will need to be proficient in the teaching language at ECFR level C1. We offer you the necessary language support for this too.

Offer
We offer an appointment of 10% as an Assistant Professor in temporary employment.
The appointment starts on 01.11.2024 and ends on 15.09.2025 (renewable after favourable evaluation).

Selection procedure

The selection procedure consists of a preselection based on application file, an interview and a test lesson / presentation.
