Offer Description

A 2- to 4-year position is immediately available for a postdoctoral scientist to conduct a research project in the field of cancer omics. The candidate will run metabolomics studies including LC-MS analysis using a Orbitrap Exploris 240 recently installed in the lab. He/she will also be involved in lipidomics research in collaboration with the KULeuven platform Lipometrix and transcriptomic studies (Macrogen fees-for-service). A local biostatistics team will provide analytical support.

The work will be related to different aspects of the tumor metabolism including how metabolic preferences are dictated by the tumor microenvironment, impact on anti-cancer immune cell response or are regulated by fluctuating access to nutrients throughout the day. More details will be given during the interview procedure.

Skills/Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience with mass spectrometry (MS), particularly in the context of metabolomics research. 

Specific Requirements

Good communication skills (english) and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team will also be very much appreciated. The ability to contribute to a positive and productive research atmosphere will be highly valued.

Selection process
