Enable pioneering research into nano and quantum technology

R&D is crucial to develop ever smaller and more powerful chips for resolving societal challenges. How about quantum computing to optimise traffic flows or predict weather patterns? Or the development of organs-on-a-chip mimicking real-life organs to study the effects of drugs? As a cleanroom technician or engineer at Delft Cleanrooms, you will enable research that drives major technological breakthroughs.

We offer you the unique opportunity to learn from the best. Would you like to become an expert in cleanroom technologies and enable leading researchers in the academic world and industry?

A steep learning curve
How to maintain, optimise and use cleanroom technologies is not something that’s taught at universities or in college. At Delft Cleanrooms, our highly experienced lab technicians and engineers will train and coach you.

Learn all there is to know about

  • building & cleanroom systems controlling the environment
  • the very latest chip-making equipment
  • chip design and production processes

and become a true expert in cleanroom technologies.

Inspiring roles to match your ambitions
Although the focus of the roles varies, there are no well-defined boundaries. In fact, we encourage you to closely interact with your fellow technicians and engineers. And we empower you to learn about and work in multiple disciplines. Because our facilities, equipment and processes are interrelated.

Although roles and responsibilities overlap, we’ve listed the three main disciplines: Cleanroom facilities, Cleanroom equipment & Cleanroom processes. Together, we will  match your role in the organization to your background, interests and ambitions.

Meet your team
You will join our highly motivated and internationally diverse team of some 30 technicians and engineers. We collaborate closely and meet regularly to share knowledge in an open, informal and supportive atmosphere. As a tight-knit community, we also engage in social activities. Working with the latest technology, we help each other respond to challenges. And we will give you all the training and coaching you need to develop your career and become an expert in your field.

Our cleanroom facilities
Kavli NanoLab and Else Kooi Laboratory constitute the Delft Cleanroom facilities. The nanotechnology-driven research conducted in our cleanrooms ranges from quantum computing and security to medical applications and the energy transition.

Our facilities meet the highest international standards for cleanroom. And as a global hub for research into nano and quantum technology, Delft Cleanroom are key contributors to Quantum Delta NL.

To meet the growing demand for our facilities and services, Delft Cleanroom has the ambition to build entirely new facilities on campus. As you grow your expertise and knowledge, you will be involved in the development of those facilities.
