The Department Coordination role provides leadership, direction and coordination for the relevant academic department for which they have responsibility, ensuring it runs properly within the campus. This role will be responsible for curriculum design and implementation, academic administration and for overseeing the campus' industry partners relations in the respective field of expertise, for which it will join efforts with the Industry Relations role. With regards to the curriculum, the Department Coordination will be accountable for ensuring the relevant discipline of study is coherent in its design, planning, management, delivery and assessment. This role will also be involved in several aspects of developing the campus academic offering and will strive to improve our connections with the industry. Achieving and maintaining student satisfaction through direct motivation (good communication, regular meetings) and efficient administration (effective delivery processes, management mechanisms and evaluation processes) will be a top priority for the role.
The role is expected to oversee the instruction of the students enrolled in the Audio department. Apart from the oversight of all matters academic within the department, the role involves the critical task of being the communication link between the Academic Team and the Student Administration functions concerning the department for which they are responsible.
As “primus inter partes” (first point of contact) the person in this role will be able to guide other lecturers and supervisors, setting a leading example.
