We are looking for a personality whose heart not only beats for mechatronics, but who also has an eye for the sustainability of the devices that will be designed in the future to protect our earth's valuable resources without sacrificing functionality.

Your Requirements:

  • Responsibility for the modules “Technical Mechanics” and “Mechatronic Design” (device development) with a focus on the complete design process of modern devices
  • Holding the courses in the mechatronics degree program and related courses in the department in German and English
  • Supervision of students' project and final theses in the subject area
  • Networking with regional and international cooperation partners
  • Participation in interdisciplinary research projects in the department and the university is desirable

Your Profile:

  • Successfully completed university studies in engineering sciences with a doctorate
  • Five years of professional experience, including at least three years in private economy
  • Advanced knowledge of technical mechanics and construction theory
  • Ability to conduct courses in German
  • Team orientation, commitment, enjoyment of working in teaching and research

In addition, the following points are desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience in the field of mechatronics and systems engineering
  • Practical experience in the design of equipment, devices or machines
  • Interest and motivation to incorporate the topics of sustainability, environmentally friendly product development and renewable energies into teaching
  • Commitment to the university, e.g. in our interdisciplinary doctoral program center

Applications must be supported by a German language certificate of level C2. During the appointment process, you will be asked to submit a teaching/research and thirdparty funding concept that is based on the strategic orientation of the department (please do not submit this with your application).

The position is available for an unlimited period. When first appointed to a professorship, employment is initially on a probationary civil service basis or on a permanent employment basis with a three-year probationary period.
