Within the Health, Security and Safety office, the successful candidate will join a  team of 7 individuals responsible for addressing cross-cutting safety and security aspects across all University facilities, including offices, classrooms, and laboratories. The collective expertise within the team will facilitate the candidate's swift integration and operational readiness. Continuous training will be provided to ensure alignment with legislative standards and evolving job requirements.

Your Role...

  • Coordinate legal obligations related to specific safety risks
  • Perform risk analysis and risk management, leading to corrective actions and reinforcement of general prevention
  • Perform periodical and ad hoc internal visits and audits
  • Analyze workplace accidents and propose preventive measures
  • Develop and spread information, materials, and training, in order to raise awareness around health and safety among the UL community
  • Assess demands from the UL entities in terms of improving working conditions
  • Develop procedures and clear guidelines on health and safety in collaboration with the team.
  • Carry out the tasks assigned to the designated worker (travailleur designé)

What we expect from you…

  • Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent by work experience in one of the following specializations : electricity, electronic, mechanic, electromechanics or chemistry. Any experience in the field of safety will be considered as an asset.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience
  • The successful candidate is expected to promptly enroll in and complete the designated worker training course upon commencement of employment.
  • Fluent in French or German and independent user of English (i.e. B1-B2)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate properly and establish trusted relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Luxembourgish legislation on workplace safety will be considered as an asset
  • As the job requires presence in research laboratories, the job holder is expected to attend training courses with specialization in safety areas such as biosafety, laser safety, ionizing radiation, etc.
  • Due to the on-call nature of the role, applicants are required to reside within a one-hour driving distance from Luxembourg City
