The “Metabolic Reconstruction and Flux Modeling” group at the Institute for Plant Sciences and the Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences (CEPLAS) uses computational tools to study plant metabolic networks and their interactions and works closely with experimental labs.

YOUR TASKS

  • You will be responsible for developing a multi-scale modelling framework to study the adaptive potential of the ecological performance in A. thaliana.
  • You will communicate closely with colleagues and collaboration partners.
  • You will present your results at conferences and in scientific articles.
  • You will be engaged in writing independent research proposals.
  • You will be involved in the supervision training and teaching of students.

YOUR PROFILE

  • PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computational Biology or a related discipline
  • Experience in modelling metabolic networks or other physiological and physical processes
  • Excellent programming skills
  • Knowledge in plant physiology
  • High degree of self-initiative and individual responsibility
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

The position is available immediately on a full-time basis (39,83 hours per week). The contract is to be filled for a fixed term until 31.12.2025 with option to extend. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary will be based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
