The I. Institute of Physics, University of Cologne and the MPI for Radio Astronomy, Bonn, jointly operate the GREAT instrument on SOFIA. We advertise the position of an instrument scientist (f/m/d) that will be involved in the continued development and operation of the GREAT instrument on SOFIA and will support the ongoing developments in submm astronomical instrumentation at University of Cologne and MPIfR.

The position is available as soon as possible on a full-time basis. It is initially limited until 30.09.2022 with the possibility of extension until 31.12.2023. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector. The activity under this position will be to a large fraction at the MPI for Radio Astronomy, Bonn.
