ISARA Lyon - Engineer School in Agriculture, Food Science, Rural Development and Environmental Sciences - is a private university dedicated to higher education (BSc and MSc programs), research and extension in agriculture, food and environmental studies.
Since 2008 ISARA Lyon is committed promoting Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems in research and education. The research team, internationally recognized in Agroecology and Organic agriculture, is looking for new competences in the field of agronomy.

In the Department of Agroecology and Environment which deals with agroecology, agronomy, ecology, and animal science and which carries out different interdisciplinary national and international research projects, you will lecture in French and English in Agronomy and Agroecology at Bachelor and Master levels using interactive learning approaches. In the French engineering programme you will be in charge of the coordination of two master level modules: Organic agriculture, territories and markets, and Agriculture and landscape management in a particular agricultural region. Moreover, you will teach basic agronomy at bachelor level.
You will also coordinate a module in the Master of Science Agroecology (www.agroecos.fr, www.agroecology.fr) with courses in English. We expect also a contribution in the Agroecology Summer School at ISARA.
Pedagogical activities will include supervision of practical assignments, organisation of excursions, field work and tutoring students with regards to internships, individual work and master thesis preparation.
Within the research group “Agroecology and Environment”, you will participate in research projects dealing with cropping practices using an agroecological approach and management of farming systems. You will be involved in the design and development of new projects putting your areas of research in the forefront, including innovations in agroecology and agronomy and structural changes in agriculture and farming systems.
You will participate in meetings involving different departments or work groups of ISARA, in Open Day events and any tasks related to maintaining good academic and professional relationships within and outside ISARA.
Graduated with a PhD in agronomy or agroecology or equivalent experience you have a strong expertise in agronomy, preferably in farming systems analysis.
Your skills in mutual valorization of research and teaching and strong capacity for interdisciplinary work will be good assets to succeed in this position.
You have strong skills in project management with various partners involved (projects follow-up, running meetings, budget management, etc.).
Your enthusiasm and involvement in projects will lead you to further responsibilities.
You speak fluently in English and French.
Length of contract: unlimited
Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience
