The Research Institute for Environmental and Occupational Health (Irset) based in Rennes, France, invites applicants for a Research Chair in Environmental Health Sciences with an opportunity to work with molecular biologists, immunologists, virologists, epidemiologists, analytical chemists, and toxicologists. The aim of this chair is to attract outstanding world-class researchers whose accomplishments have had a major impact in their field, and who are recognized internationally in this field. This is a three-year position funded by Rennes Metropole, with additional support to conduct research. Irset will provide the successful applicant with a dedicated research area of at least 50 m² (infrastructure fees will be paid by the host laboratory), and ensure access to onsite technological platforms (e.g. https://biosit.univ-rennes1.fr/). The position is intended to lead to a permanent position within 3 years.
Irset is a large international inter- and multi-disciplinary research center that focuses on the impact of the environment on human health. Irset comprises some 280 research staff who study the biological processes and environmental factors - mostly chemical exposures and infectious diseases, but also physical, social, cultural and occupational factors- that affect human health.
Applications from candidates in all areas of human health-related biology will be considered. Areas of particular interest (but not exclusive of others) include exposomics studies focused on causes of chronic human diseases related to endogenous and exogenous exposures, e.g. 1) Sensoring and exposure modelling for research on the external exposome; 2) -omics (notably metabolomics, adductomics and epigenomics) and microbiome measurements for research on the internal exposome; or 3) Bioinformatics and big data (integrative analysis of -omics data, system biology).
The program is highly competitive and candidates should have a solid record of accomplishment in terms of both publications and research funding, along with a high-impact and innovative research program. Candidates must not have been working in Rennes since March 1, 2016.
For further questions about the position, candidates will contact Irset’s Director, Dr Michel Samson (+33 2 23 23 59 27 | email@example.com).
Candidates applying for this position should e-mail a detailed CV, including a list of published papers, and a cover letter detailing interest for the position to Dr Michel Samson (firstname.lastname@example.org / email@example.com).
The closing date for the receipt of applications is January 10, 2020.Apprenez-en davantage
