YOUR TASKS

You will work on various research projects on mathematical modelling and artificial intelligence methods for environmental systems. Your specific tasks include:

  • State-of-the-art research on mathematical modelling and the application of artificial intelligence for environmental systems.
  • Develop both mechanistic and data-driven models for environmental systems and processes.
  • Supervising master students.
  • Supervising PhD students.
  • You collaborate with external project partners.
  • You actively participate in writing new project proposals on the digitization of water quality processes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • You have a PhD degree in bio-science engineering, chemical engineering, process engineering or similar
  • You have good knowledge of environmental systems and processes.
  • You have experience with computer programming such as Python/Julia/Matlab.
  • You have good knowledge of machine learning and data analysis techniques.
  • You are a quick learner and are able to conduct independent research
  • You are fluent in English, both speaking and writing
  • You are motivated and dedicated

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for 6 months for 50% employment as postdoctoral researcher.
  • Your contract will start on 1/072026 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale PD1 to PD4. Click here for more information about our salary scales.
