Description of the research activity:

The project investigates intelligent systems, with particular emphasis on smart sensing and the Internet of Things. We drive cutting edge research and development in IoT-enabled smart sensing systems, with focus on connectivity, data processing, data analysis, and data-driven modeling based on machine learning (ML). The main aim is to make breakthroughs on intelligent internetworked systems, including smart communications, cooperative ML, embedded ML, and federated ML. These fundamental issues are at the heart of real-world grand challenges, whereby smart/embedded AI solutions have promising implications to diverse domains such as medicine, over-population, transportation, and climate. Data fusion, data modeling and data-driven predictive analysis will form the bases for our research on sustainable and efficient use of AI for tackling such grand challenges.
