Recruitment: an Assistant Professor (Maître de Conférences) of 61/62th Section in ENSAIT/Laboratory GEMTEX

Major: Modeling and optimization of textile products and materials
The GEMTEX Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research team in textiles. It is composed of three research groups:
- HCD (Human Centered Design), Section CNU 61
- MTP (Multifunctional Textiles and Processes), Sections CNU 33 and 62
- MTC (Mechanics - Textile Composites), Section CNU 60
The research work of the Candidate should be oriented to modeling and simulation of processes for textile material manufacturing at different scales (fibers, yarns, knits, woven, …) and/or material structures in collaboration with experts in the laboratory in different fields. The Candidate will have a strong interaction with all the three groups of the Laboratory.
By using the tools of automation and industrial informatics (simulation, decision support systems, optimization, classification, …) and exploiting the skills and expertise of the members of the Laboratory, the work of the Candidate will enable to improve product quality, master physical flow (process, control, tracking, …) or informational flow (industrial design, collaborative design platform) and reduce environmental impacts.
The Candidate will participate in the existing collaborative research programs inside the Laboratory and mounting of new projects.
The Candidate will contribute to his/her research activities by making use of his/her international experience obtained during the study or training.
Human resource: The Candidate will join the GEMTEX Laboratory, currently composed of 12 Professors and 18 Associate Professors.

ENSAIT trains engineers who are specialised in fibres and textiles.
ENSAIT engineers are versatile, autonomous, sensitive to sustainable development, and prepared for the world of industry in a wide range of sectors. They can work in textile and clothing sectors as well as in any industries requiring textile materials: aeronautics, automotive, health, sports, construction, retailing, fashion, luxury, etc. They hold positions in research and development, quality, consultancy, purchasing, commerce, logistics or production.
An ENSAIT engineer is trained over 3 years in one of two courses – through a regular curriculum of studies or in a dual-training system of studies and apprenticeship.
ENSAIT students can personalise their studies by combining different elements, starting from the second year when they can choose between Technical Textile Engineering and Fashion and Services Engineering. The regular curriculum includes a compulsory stay abroad which can take the form of internships, exchange semesters, final study projects, or double diplomas. Experience in industry is also of particular importance – the students are able to define their career plans more precisely thanks to two internships and a final study project.
The Candidate will join the team of teachers in charge of the teaching activities on textile process engineering and contribute to one part of courses in relation with textile. Teaching in automation and information processing will also be proposed.
The Candidate will have strong English skills and be proposed to teach specialized courses in English during the international semester.
One part of his/her service will be dedicated to supervision of final year projects and industrial internships for regular engineer students and tutoring of students in apprenticeship.
The Candidate will be proposed to participate in tutoring of international students: elaboration of student’s personalized program, pedagogical tracking of students (incoming and outgoing).
Finally, the Candidate will work with all the teachers and teachers-researchers for improving quality of the teaching offered. He/she should train him/herself in active pedagogy and introduce innovative pedagogy to his/her teaching activities.
