Solid state physics, surfaces and interfaces
During this post-doctoral study of 2 years, we aim to develop new optoelectronic devices, especially photodetectors based on a 2D materials / nanocrystals hybrid system. Combining 2D materials such as graphene or transition metal dichalcogenides known for their exceptional transport properties with semiconductor nanocrystals used for their optical characteristics is today at the heart of innovation in the field of next-generation photodetectors. This opens a very rich field of investigation where the transport phenomena between the different materials must be analyzed, understood and mastered. We propose in this subject to design, develop and characterize a new class of detectors, ultra-sensitive and potentially low cost, based on this hybrid concept. The targeted detection range is in near infrared spectral range.
