Aix-en-Provence – Marseille (France)
12-month contract (renewable once) from March 1, 2021.
Within the framework of a partnership between the Plan Bleu association in Marseilles and the Institute of Mediterranean Societies in Transition in Aix-en-Provence (SoMuM), it is proposed to recruit a post-doctoral researcher as of March 1, 2021, for a 12-month contract (renewable once).
The post-doctoral researcher will conduct a research project on the theme "The foresight tool to face the challenges of socio-environmental transformations to help public action in the Mediterranean ".
Whether in the fields of environmental issues such as climate, energy, biodiversity or water, or in the fields of demography, immigration or education, the Mediterranean basin proves to be a particularly interesting territory for dealing with public action in the face of global socio-environmental transformations: to see how changes are documented and recorded, how public policies are fed into their prospective ambition, notably under the watchwords of "transition" and "sustainable development". Conceived in partnership between LAMES and the Plan Bleu association, the work of the post-doctoral student will have to examine how prospective thinking uses its various tools, notably the scenario approach, to think about present and future challenges, both for the health and environmental protection aspects and for the promotion of activities more attentive to these issues. The research proposals to be carried out over 12 months will have to be articulated with the research themes of the LAMES research unit and with the operational expectations of the Plan Bleu association.
How should we think about tomorrow's societies and the challenges they face? How to think about the crises of today and tomorrow? In what way is the Mediterranean a good field of observation to feed these questions? It will be a question of seeing how the social sciences analyse the tools and methods for thinking about the future that institutions (including Plan Bleu) imagine, forge and implement, and what analytical and methodological tools the social sciences can contribute to developing.
These avenues of reflection are part of the SoMuM Institute's Intersectoral Pole, which pays particular attention to understanding the transitions of yesterday's, today's and tomorrow's societies.
This call for proposals is open to social sciences and humanities disciplines such as sociology, political science, history, geography, social anthropology, demography.
